#14: MASTER SWORD

manatopia:

Let me state very clearly, that I do not in any way support or suggest that hate or attacks in any way should be sent to this girl. Do not let her ignorant ways influence turning you into a Tumblr monster.

When I know someone and has talked to someone who has had something stolen from them, more than likely, I’ll say something. But when I came to realize that zeldalise, a very innocent, talented, and honest theme maker, was being tagged with hate because she had asked this girl to remove a theme that used some of her code that she did not give permission for, I couldn’t help myself.

Hating someone is immature on its own, but tagging people with that hate is even worse. Trust me, it has happened to me, and I’ll never forget it.

I don’t care what anyone says, the internet never gives anyone an excuse to take parts from someone’s theme, put it into their own, and then claim the theme is theirs. That you made it. I’m sorry, that’s not how it works. It’s not yours unless you coded the entire thing yourself. Taking a small chunk of someone’s written code, or a large chunk, or the whole thing, does not make it yours.

Unless you have permission (which, if the theme maker asks you to remove it, you clearly didn’t get any) you should never, ever, ever do this. It’s not “taking the internet seriously”, it’s taking honest-to-god hard work seriously.

So this is a signal boost. This girl clearly has no problem taking from other peoples themes and then calling the theme hers! If you’re a theme maker, check out her themes, make sure they don’t belong to you. I have heard that other so-called “theme-gods” are also thieves. Check them out too.

Manda, you are the sweetest person ever. Thank you for sticking up for me.
